There are two levels of access that can be used for GP Connect, depending whether the user has a clinical role or not.

Restricted access

This level of access is available to anyone who is part of a CQC-registered care provider, for example:

  • CQC-registered manager

  • Deputy home manager/care manager/deputy care manager/senior carer/team leader

  • Pharmacist/pharmacy technician

  • Social worker

Nurses working within care homes can access the full record.

It's more than likely that most of your users will only be allowed to have restricted access.

Users with restricted access will be able to view the following sections:

  • Summary

    • Including the last 3 encounters

    • Active problems and issues

    • Major inactive problems and issues

  • Medications

  • Allergies and Adverse Reactions

  • Immunisations

See GP Connect: Sections for more information

Full access

If a user is a registered clinician, and has a current professional registration with a clinical body in England, you may wish to grant them Full access.

The user will have access to all information that GP Connect can provide, but you must record their professional registration details when configuring their access.
