NHS Number
First, you'll need to make sure that you know the NHS number of the client whose GP Connect record you wish to access.
This can be recorded in the Identifiers section of the client's overview.
An NHS number is a 10-digit number that uniquely identifies a patient to the NHS. When entering an NHS number into CareLineLive, we will verify that it follows the correct format, however we cannot verify that the NHS number belongs to the correct client until their GP Connect record is accessed.
Recording Consent
Before you can access the GP Connect tab of a client's record, you must first record their consent to their record being viewed.
Within the Choices tab of a client record, you can record any decisions that have been made regarding this. When recording a client's agreement, you should record a new "choice" with the decision of Accepted.
Accessing GP Connect
Once an NHS number has been stored, and their decision to allow access has been recorded, the GP Connect tab will now be available.
See GP Connect: Sections for more information about how to navigate and interpret the data accessible via GP Connect.
