When calculating holiday accrual, you have the option to include travel time even if travel time itself is not paid. Travel time refers to the time it takes for a carer to travel from one place to another. This is a flexible setting, giving you control over how holiday entitlement is calculated for your carers.
For more information on Holiday/Leave pay please refer to Holiday/Leave Pay.
To include travel time:
From the main menu go to Settings - Employees - Leave. Scroll to the bottom of the page to Travel Time Inclusion.
Click the Travel Time Inclusion dropdown and select from the following options.
Never: Travel time will not be included in the carer’s holiday accrual.
If Payable: Travel time will be included in the carer’s holiday accrual only when their assigned contract pays for travel time.
Always: Travel time will be included in the carer’s holiday accrual, even if their assigned contract does not pay for travel time.
Important note: Before you click Create settings or Save settings, please check that the other sections on this page align with your company policies. Further details on each section are provided below.
Team - Configure for individual Teams from the dropdown list or switch to Master: Selecting Master will apply this setting across all teams, with every team inheriting the configuration.
Leave Year - By default, the leave year starts on 1 January, but you can change this to match your company’s holiday year.
Accrual - Holiday accrual estimates are based on the UK government’s recommendation for casual workers, which is 12.07% of hours worked. You can adjust this percentage if your organisation uses a different rate.
