When setting up a contract, you will be asked whether your payment strategy is set to pay for:

  • Bookings only - The carer will get paid for the actual calls they make to a client

  • Shifts and Bookings - The carer will get paid for the calls they make and for the length of the shift set

  • Shift only - The carer will get paid for the length of the shift, irrespective of the amount/length of calls within

There is an example below to further illustrate how the carer will be paid. This is based on the carers being paid a standard hourly rate and the full length of the bookings being used.

This setting will only have an effect when applied to the contract allocated to the booking. Changing the setting on the contract allocated to the Shift will not have an effect.

Bookings only

Using the above example, the carer will be paid for 3.5 hours as there are 3 bookings. 2 are an hour and the other is 1.5 hours.

Shifts and Bookings

Using the above example, the carer will be paid for 7 hours, which the length of the shift plus the 3.5 hours from the bookings so they will get paid for 10.5 hours in total.

Shift only

Using the above example, the carer will be paid for 7 hours, which is the length of the shift.
