Before you read this article, see What are contracts? and Carer contracts.
Carer Contract Types allow you to control how a carer will be paid for their work. All carers must have a contract assigned to them in order to be active in your environment.
Contract Types can be associated with:
If you have different hourly rates for specific services then they should be defined in separate Contract Types.
⚠️ Once a contract has expired, bookings can no longer be created for that contract. If the carer doesn't have another active contract they'll be marked as inactive.
To create a new Contract Type:
Click Carers and then Contract Types to view the list of contract types. Click the + icon.
Add a name for the Contract Type and select the team you want to access it, then click Create contract.
Add the hourly rate for the new contract.
You can define a Non pro rata rate (or NPRR). These rates allow you to define an amount for a specific period of time, for example:
You may wish to charge £20 for a 30 minute visit, whereas you would normally charge £26 for an hour.
If you decide to use an NPRR, please ensure you add a one hour rate in with the same value as the default hourly rate, so that the contract knows when to end the NPRR.
Click Add rate. For more information, see Rates.
Choose the time period for the NPRR and click Add rate.
Add the range for any unsociable hours. You can also add NPRRs for the unsociable hours.
You can also enable fixed rates and guaranteed pay. For more information, see Rates and Capture different pay rates within one carer contract.
Select the shift payment strategy and check the boxes to calculate pay and rates.
You can also choose to pay for travel mileage and travel time.
If you click Pay mileage:
You can choose whether to include mileage to and from home.
You can also enter a minimum journey in miles and choose to pay the difference.
If you click Pay for travel time:
You can choose to pay for travel time and enter an amount per minute to pay for.
You can also limit the amount of travel time a carer is paid for.
Choose to exclude from holiday pay estimates, then select the visit duration rounding.
Click Save.
You can find the new contract by going to Carers and then Contract Types.
