Shadowing bookings

There are a couple of ways that you can add a carer to a call to allow them to shadow other carers without charging the client.

Using the shadowing booking type

One of the default booking types is called shadowing. This is set to be able to allow only carers to be allocated and is payable. To add this booking to a carer, head to either the roster, or their agenda and click and drag to create a new booking. Select the shadowing booking type and click create.

The main benefit of this type is that you are able to provide a timeframe for the booking without providing any personal information of the client. If you do need to assign a client then you will need to adjust the booking type to allow clients to be allocated.

⚠️ As a default, using this booking type means that the carer is unable to check in to the visit and will not see any information within.

Can I edit the booking type to allocate clients?

Yes you are, you can alter this to allow clients, but please note you will need to allow for client overlap in this instance.

Adding a carer to an existing booking

If you would prefer to add a new carer to an existing booking then you can do that instead. By default the carers will be paid and the client will be charged extra for them.

To prevent the client being charged, you will need to adjust the payment settings on the booking.

If you are unable to add more carers to a booking, you may need to adjust the booking type to allow more carers to be allocated.
