The carer schedule can be used to create a carer's regular availability, or shift patterns. The schedule is found in the carer's record, beneath the agenda tab. It looks and works in a similar manner to the client's schedule, however, there are some key differences.

Creating a carer schedule entry begins in the same way as creating a client schedule entry; you can either click and drag on the grid, or use the + icon to bring up the menu.

The first difference lies in the "When" section, the same options for start time and duration are present, but the week and day field work slightly differently. If you want to include multiple days, you need to select the "Repeat?" option. This allows you to achieve one of two options:

Days

Select the days you want this entry to happen for that week, all days are selected by default and you can de-select the days you don't want to use.

Pattern

This allows you to use the day and time you have input and create an x days on, x days off pattern. Using this will automatically adjust your carer's schedule cycle to account for a consistent pattern.

Once you have selected this information, you are able to select the purpose of the schedule entry - Availability, or Shift

Availability

If you have availability selected, there is a tick box to indicate whether you intend for the carer to be set as available, or unavailable during that time period. Using the default settings, this is just a visual indicator that this is either a good or a bad time to allocate a booking. Using the restrictions in Settings β†’ Roster β†’ Restrictions, you are able to amend this to prevent allocation in times that are less suitable.

Scheduled availability can be overridden using ad-hoc availability. For more information see Ad-Hoc Carer Availability.

Shift

You can also schedule in a shift, this will work in a similar manner to a client's scheduled bookings in that it will not automatically create the shift and they will need to be generated.

When you select the shift option, you will need to choose the team that the shift should be assigned to as well as selecting the contract you want associated with it. The contract will then be used to determine which carer's are active when generating shifts, and will also determine whether the shift should be paid and how it should be paid if necessary. Please see Shift Payment Strategy for more information.
