Although having multiple teams can be a particularly useful tool to separate out different branches, having too many teams can be a hassle if they are not used correctly. If you ever have more teams than you actually need, what can you do?

Can I delete a team?

A team can be deleted, but it must be done by the support team. It is not possible to delete teams as an end user, even with the administrator role. This is because it can cause some serious knock-on effects if not done correctly!

Are there any prerequisites for deleting a team?

For a team to be deleted you must make sure anything associated with that team has been reassigned or removed, including:

  • User accounts

  • Carers

  • Clients

  • Contracts

  • Bookings

  • Forms

⚠️ If there is anything within a team when the team is deleted, the data will be permanently lost.

How do I go about getting a team deleted?

In order for a team to be deleted your system administrator must contact the support team via Intercom (or email) requesting this. We will need the name of the team(s) that you are looking to have deleted.

ℹ️ If the request is made over the phone we will still need you to email in to ensure the request is logged

We will respond asking you to check this team contains no information before requesting permission to log in for an additional check.

Once this check has happened, the request will be escalated for actioning.

⚠️ There is no guarantee that a team will be deleted immediately and we will be unable to provide an estimated timeframe for this to be actioned

Consequences of deleting teams

Because teams are at the base of everything within CareLineLive, there is a chance that deleting teams can cause some knock on effects. Any person (carer, client or user account) that is still assigned to a team when it is deleted will be deleted along with it. It is usually better to keep the inactive teams to keep all data.

Any confirmed bookings will still be available, but cannot be invoiced or paid if they have not already been included within a payroll or invoice run.

Bookings that were on the deleted team may also not show up in reports.
